Plan Recommendations:

This plan incorporated both Wildland Urban Interface (WUI) recommendations as well as Community Zone Fuel Modification projects and has been ongoing for several years.

Results Achieved to Date:

Numerous projects have been completed by various agencies to date. These include

• Canmore Nordic Center Fuel Modification Phase I and II.(partnership between SRD and Community Development)
• Changes to Municipal Bylaws regarding development
• Cross Training and Mock Exercises
• Fairholme Bench Fuel Modification and Prescribed Burn (Banff National Park)
• Harvie Heights Fuel Modification (MD of Bighorn, SRD)
• Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Fuel Modification (Private Foundation)
• Three Sisters Development Fuel Modification (Private developer)
