Red Deer - Parkland/Prairie
This area, rich in lakes, provides excellent opportunities for viewing aquatic mammals, fish, waterfowl and shorebirds.
The many species of migrant birds which visit here in spring and fall are of particular interest.
A transition zone from moist aspen parkland to dry prairie, this area offers a distinct blend of habitats for wildlife.
Wildflowers flourish on the open hillsides, and localized aspen stands and shrub thickets provide shelter for deer, foxes,
coyotes and many smaller mammals.
