Introducing a new GPS map for the Ghost and McLean Creek Public Land Use Zone!

A geo-referenced map of Alberta’s Ghost and McLean Creek Public Land Use Zones (PLUZ) is available for you to download on your Garmin hand-held GPS device and take with you on your travels through the zones.

The GPS map contains much of the information that you need to recreate responsibly and legally throughout the PLUZs, including:

  • An accurate depiction of trails in the Ghost and McLean Creek Public Land Use Zones and their permitted uses
  • Areas in which random camping is not permitted
  • Elevation contours
  • Highways and roads
  • Lakes and streams with names
  • Provincial Recreation Areas (designated campgrounds)

Things to consider before you download

Are you using a Garmin GPS device?

The electronic map is only compatible with Garmin products. Garmin MapSource is required if you wish to use the MapSource version.

Do you have a printed copy of the Ghost or McLean Creek PLUZ brochure?

In addition to your electronic map, a hard copy of the each zones brochure (found at your local SRD office or Kiosks throughout the Public Land Use Zones) should also be used to ensure you are familiar with responsible recreation techniques and with the rules of the area.
