Air Photo Distribution
Notice to Air Photo Clients
Air Photo Distribution is working towards improving our services, requiring conversion of Alberta's air photo repository
from hard copy to digital imagery.
Impacts to traditional services are taking place. For details see:
Air Photo Distribution makes available all the aerial photographs that have been taken for the provincial government. The
collection contains over 1.5 million aerial photographs covering the entire province of Alberta dating back to 1949.
Most of these photographs are black and white; however, some areas have been photographed in colour. Photographs are available
in a variety of scales and for various dates.
Most areas of the province have been photographed several times since 1949. The areas flown each year are driven by the
needs of the department based on projects approved.
The entire province has been photographed at least once over the last 60 years.
Visit the Reference Library
Medium and/or small scale black & white and colour photographs are available for viewing in the Air Photo Distribution reference
library. Copies of the photographs can also be purchased either in hard copies or digital formats.
